Souper Sunday - Jan 10th, 2010

On Sunday 10th January 2010, congregations all over Scotland – and all over the world – marked "Souper Sunday", by serving soup and having an Elder-led service.

This was a fund-raising initiative organised by The Church of Scotland HIV/AIDS Project.

Here in New Aberdour we decided to go with the Elder-led service on the Sunday but to serve the soup in the village hall the day before. As it turned out, the Saturday was a bitter cold day with lying snow but despite all of this, people turned out and the event was a resounding success.

Christmas 2009

Christmas is a very special time at St Drostans. It starts with a procession through the streets, led by the Salvation Army Band. We sing carols and a real live donkey takes pride of place. Afterwards, everyone meets at the church for a family service. Here iare some short video clips from last year's event.
