BILL'S HARVEST MESSAGE

Matthew 9;37 - 38 The harvest is large, but there are few workers to gather it in. Pray to the owner of the harvest. He will send out workers.

Hymn 627 - For the Lord our God shall come and shall take his harvest home.

The central thesis of the Christian Gospel is that Jesus Christ is coming back to this Earth and you know when he does He is not coming back for bags of apples or potatoes; or bunches of flowers or tomatoes, important as these things are, but a harvest of people.

One of the great strengths of our Faith is that we are all different, we have different strengths and weaknesses. We are not expected to produce the same, but we are expected to produce what we can.

We know how it feels for the farmer as he looks at unclaimed harvest. How does God feel as he looks on the harvest that could be gathered here in our parish? Individually we need to ask, 'Have I brought in the harvest that I could have? Have I shared with all those I could have?'

Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.(North American Cree Indian)
